Cypress Breast Augmentation-Behind or in front of the muscle?

Board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Farbod Esmailian, provides his breast augmentation close to Cypress, in Los Alamitos.  Dr. Esmailian describes 3 different locations for implant placement.  The saline or silicone implants can be placed either in front of the muscle, known as subglandular, or behind the muscle, termed subpectoral or in a dual plane breast augmentation position, which is partially behind the muscle.

Each implant location has its benefits and drawbacks and one particular location may work better for one patient than another.  Dr. Esmailian, will examine you and be able to determine which implant location would work best for you.

In general, an implant that is placed in a subglandular position or in a dual plane position tends to settle sooner and the final result is apparent sooner.  An implant placed behind the muscle or in a subperctoral location will require settling and the final result will be apparent at about 4 months time.
